2205 Duplex Steel, also known as S32205 Steel, is a high-performance stainless steel with a dual-phase structure of austenite and ferrite. Corrosion resistance:

2205 duplex stainless steel 2205 alloy is superior to 316L and 317L austenitic stainless steel in terms of pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. It has high corrosion resistance, lower thermal expansion coefficient and higher thermal conductivity than austenite. Compared with austenitic stainless steel, duplex stainless steel 2205 alloy has twice the compressive strength, and designers can reduce its weight compared with 316L and 317L. 2205 alloy is particularly suitable for temperatures within the range of -50°F/+600°F, and can also be used at lower temperatures under strict restrictions (especially for welded structures).
