Main strengthening methods
Solid solution strengthening and fine grain strengthening: Solid solution strengthening is achieved by adding alloying elements (such as Si, Mn, etc.), and fine grains are used to improve strength and toughness. Studies have shown that fine grain strengthening can simultaneously improve the strength and plasticity of steel, and is a key strengthening method for automotive steel.
Role of alloying elements: Add elements that can prevent austenite growth, delay recrystallization temperature and increase ferrite nucleation rate (such as Nb, Ti, etc.), optimize microstructure, and ensure uniform and fine grains
Key process measures
Rolling process: Use large reduction rolling to crush the original austenite grains, increase the number of deformation bands, and lay the foundation for subsequent phase transformation and grain refinement.
Cooling and coiling: By accelerating the cooling rate (such as laminar cooling) and reducing the coiling temperature (usually ≤600℃), inhibit grain growth and promote the formation of fine-grained ferrite
