Features:
Corrosion resistance: It has excellent corrosion resistance to hydrochloric acid at any temperature and concentration, and also has good corrosion resistance to sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, phosphoric acid and other non-oxidizing media. B-3 alloy has high resistance to pitting, stress corrosion, knife edge corrosion and corrosion in the heat affected zone of welding.
Thermal stability: Due to the adjustment of its chemical composition, its thermal stability has been greatly improved compared with the original B-2 alloy. The iron and chromium content of the alloy is controlled to a minimum, thus preventing the precipitation of Ni₄Mo phase between 700-800℃, thereby reducing the risk of processing embrittlement.
Other characteristics: It can maintain plasticity when exposed to medium temperature instantaneously; it also has the characteristics of high strength, easy plastic processing at room temperature, good welding performance, beautiful surface and diversified use possibilities, and because it does not require surface treatment, it is simple, clean and has high finish.
Application range
Hastelloy B-3 alloy can be used for all previous B-2 alloy uses, but like B-2 alloy, it is not recommended to be used in environments with trivalent iron salts and divalent copper salts, because these salts will quickly cause corrosion damage. In practical applications, due to its good corrosion resistance and other characteristics, Hastelloy B-3 steel coils may be used in industries that require corrosion-resistant materials such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and food processing
