Basic information
Hastelloy B2 alloy steel pipe belongs to nickel-based alloy pipe, among which Hastelloy B2 is a nickel-based alloy, the main components of which include nickel, molybdenum, iron, chromium and other elements, with a face-centered cubic lattice structure. It is produced in the United States and is commonly used in chemical, petroleum, electronics and other fields. It is a high-performance material.
Performance characteristics
1. High temperature performance
High-temperature alloys generally refer to a type of metal material based on iron, nickel and cobalt, which can work for a long time at high temperatures above 600℃ and under certain stress. As a nickel-based alloy pipe, Hastelloy B2 alloy steel pipe has a special and important position in the entire high-temperature alloy field. If the endurance strength of 150MPA - 100H is used as the standard, the maximum temperature that nickel alloys can withstand is >1100℃, which is about 150℃ to 250℃ higher than iron-based alloys. The working temperature is relatively high and can be widely used in the manufacture of aviation jet engines and the hottest parts of various industrial gas turbines.
2. Corrosion resistance
(1) Resistance to reducing environment corrosion: It has excellent corrosion resistance to reducing environment, excellent tolerance to medium concentration sulfuric acid and many non-oxidizing acids, and also has very good resistance to chloride ion reduction stress corrosion cracking (SCC) and excellent resistance to various organic acid corrosion
(2) Anti-oxidation and corrosion resistance: Nickel is a face-centered cubic with a very stable structure. It does not undergo allotropic transformation from room temperature to high temperature, which makes nickel alloys have the advantages of stable structure, less harmful phases and high anti-oxidation and corrosion resistance. Compared with ferroalloys, Hastelloy B2 alloy steel pipes perform better in this regard.
Precautions for processing and heat treatment
1. Keep clean
Before and during heat treatment, the workpiece should always be kept clean and free of pollution. Attention should be paid to removing stains such as marking paint, temperature indicator paint, colored crayons, chalk, lubricating oil, various liquids and oil stains, fuel, etc.
2. Avoid contact with low melting point metals
During the heating process, sulfur, phosphorus, lead and other low melting point metals must not be contacted, otherwise the performance of the alloy will be damaged and Hastelloy B2 will become brittle.
3. Control the sulfur content of the fuel
The lower the sulfur content in the fuel, the better. The total sulfur content in natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas should be less than 0.1%, the sulfur content in city gas should not exceed 0.25g/m³, and the sulfur content in fuel oil should be less than 0.5%.
4. Ensure the quality of furnace gas
The furnace gas must be clean and slightly reductive. It should be avoided that the furnace gas fluctuates between oxidation and reduction. The heating flame cannot burn directly to the workpiece, and it should be heated to the required temperature as quickly as possible.
Application field
1. Aerospace field
Due to its good high temperature performance and structural stability, it is widely used in the manufacture of aviation jet engines and the hottest parts of various industrial gas turbines, such as turbine blades, combustion chambers, turbine discs and even the last few compressor blades. In advanced engines, nickel alloys account for half of the total weight.
2. Chemical and petroleum fields
With its excellent corrosion resistance, it can be used in the chemical and petroleum industries to transport corrosive media, such as liquids containing sulfuric acid, organic acids, etc. It can effectively resist the corrosion of the media and ensure the long-term stable operation of the pipeline system.
3. Electronic field
In the electronic field, its good comprehensive performance can also meet the needs of some special environments and working conditions, and play an important role as a high-performance material.
