Nickel Alloy 201 Alloy Steel Pipe
Basic Overview
Nickel Alloy 201 (also known as Alloy 201) is a high-purity nickel-based alloy with excellent high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties. It is widely used in harsh environments such as chemical industry, aerospace, energy, etc. Its domestic grade is N4, corresponding to the international standards UNS N02201 and W.Nr.2.4061

Physical Performance
Key performance
1. Physical properties
Density: 8.89 g/cm³
High temperature resistance: Can be used for a long time in an environment up to 1230℃
Hardness: Can be adjusted to soft, medium hard or full hard state through heat treatment
2. Corrosion resistance
Chemical stability: Excellent acid resistance (such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid) and alkaline medium corrosion resistance, can resist strong corrosive gases such as chlorine and fluorine
Oxidation resistance: Can form a stable oxide film at high temperature to maintain stable chemical properties
Processing technology
1. Hot processing
Temperature range: 1250-800℃
Precautions: Grease, carbon and sulfur pollutants must be removed before heating
2. Cold processing and heat treatment
Stress relief annealing is required when the cold processing deformation exceeds 5%
Annealing process can optimize the plasticity and toughness of the material
3. Welding process
GTAW (tungsten inert gas welding) or GMAW (metallic gas shielded welding) is recommended, and it is recommended to use welding materials of the same material
Application areas
1. Chemical industry: acid and alkali solution pipelines, reactor linings, electrolytic cells
2. Energy field: nuclear reactor heat exchange tubes, high-temperature steam pipelines
3. Food processing: salt refining equipment, food processing pipelines
4. Marine engineering: seawater desalination equipment, deep-sea drilling platform components
Comparative advantages with Nickel 200
1. Low carbon content: ≤0.02% carbon content improves the resistance to intergranular corrosion at high temperatures
2. High temperature applicability: better performance than Nickel 200 in environments above 600℃
3. Weldability: Lower carbon content reduces the risk of welding thermal cracks and is suitable for complex pipeline welding and forming
